The presentation of my penfriend: Jordan Roe

Hello! My name is Samory and my Australian penfriend is Jordan Roe.

He's very nice and speaks French very well. He likes listening to music, playing tennis and video games. He likes vegemite, tate flambée, munster and thinks snails aren't bad. He likes animals too. He has a little sister, Kirsten, who's 10 and a dog whose name is Molly.

We went to "la montagne des singes", "la volerie des aigles", to the locks on the Rhin, bowling, and to Europapark...

When we were at home, we played "fano rona", a game from Madagascar, Jungle speed, a card game - Uno, video games and we played with my cats and dogs. We rode bikes or walked my dogs and we went to Lucas' house.

We went to the quatrieme's party and did camping there, and we went to Olivia (Pauline's billet) and Juliette’s birthday at Pauline's and we did camping there too.

When he left, I was sad and I’m impatient to see him again!

During Steven's stay in France, we did lots of things.

On the 18^th and 19^th June, we went to the sailing boat course with the college. On the 19th, after that, I went with Steven to the musical show « Roméo et Juliette » at the college.

The next day, we went to the « Montagne des Singes » and the « Volerie des Aigles ».

On Sunday, we visited Strasbourg on a pleasure boat, we went to the « Petite France » and we went up the Cathedral, we ate with my Grandparents and in the evening, we went to the Music Festival. It was very good !

The next Saturday we went to my sister's Primary School's Fête in Nothalten.

On Sunday the 28^th June, We went to the « Ecomusée »in Ungersheim, it was interesting.

On Monday the 29^th, we walked up to Bernstein Castle with my father and next, we visited a distillery.

On Thursday the 2^nd July, my father organized a wine sale auction, we went in the morning, and in the afternoon we stayed at home.

On Friday the 3^rd, we went to Gertwiller; Steven bought gingerbread and we visited the museum. After That, we went to the « Mont St Odile ».

Saturday the 4^th July, we left Blienschwiller and we went to the Lac Leman by car. The first day, we visited Evian.

The second day, we went to Châtel. First, we did Summer sledging and after, we watched a Mountain Bike Competition; it was very impressive ! Next we returned to the lake, we swim at the swimming pool and we watched the « RC Strasbourg » on TV!

On The third and the fourth day, we went to Chamonix. We went to the « Mer de Glace » by the « Montenvers » train, We visited Chamonix but we didn't see the « Mont Blanc » because it was foggy...

We returned to Blienschwiller in the evening of the 8^th July and on the 9^th, we went to Europapark with all the Australians. Next we ate at the restaurant in Erstein.

On the Last day, Steven, my Father and me visited the wine cellers in Blienschwiller, and on the 11 July, the Australians returned to Australia.

It was a very good stay. I had a super time with Steven; he was nice and funny.

Hello.

My penfriend is Leah. She arrived on the 17^th June. We went to school together all the days we had school. On the 20^th June, we went to Colmar, with Rhylee and Laurène. We wanted to go bowling, but it was closed, so we went shopping in Colmar and after, we went to Cora. It was really funny. On the 23^rd June Leah went to Paris during three days. It was only one week we were together, and I missed her already ! On the 30^th June, Leah went to Haut-Koenigsbourg (she thought it was boring). She visited Riquewihr and Colmar.

During my summer holidays, we saw lots of people! We went Bowling (I don’t remember when) with Pauline, Olivia, Laura, Nicola, Samory, and Jordan. It was a great moment!

On the 13^th July , we went to Strasbourg, with a lot of Autralian penfriends. We visited the Cathedral of Strasbourg, and the city. After that, we went to ‘’bateau mouche’’ (under the rain !)

We took lots of photos with Leah, I really like her. She always said ‘’Je suis une princesse et tu es mon esclave’’ and I said ‘’No I am the princess and you’re the slave’’ haha. It was a joke.

On the 9^th Juillet, we went to Europapark with all the Australians and the French . I think it was the greatest day , because we were with all the ‘’Dambach Australians’’. We had fun on that day! In the evening, we went to a restaurant, for the last day we were together.

And finally they had to go.. It was horrible! All the people wept ! And the French wanted go on the bus ! It was a great experience! I want them to come back here, because 3weeks it’s not long!

My Australian penfriend.

On the fifteenth of June, my penfriend came to France. Her name is Olivia.

She’s a super girl,funny, smiling, sporty and very crazy (like me ).

She likes grey and animals (especially my cats). She hates vegemite and mint (one day we went to the restaurant and she tasted mint then she shouted very loud in all the restaurant because she hates it). It was very funny! During her holidays in France Olivia tested many French meals. She likes tartes flambées, choucroute and snails! We taught her a lot of Alsatian traditions, for example we taught her to dance waltz and she liked that!

Otherwise, my billet visited the Haut Koenigsbourg, the “monkey mountain”, the zoo of Amnéville, Paris (she thought that Paris was the most beautiful city in the world! )

We went to Strasbourg,to Colmar,to Europa Park and so on...

As my billet had her birthday, on the sixth of July, my family and me made a surprise. We made a big camp (more than thirty people with all the Australians from Dambach) and even her mum came! Olivia was very happy and all the people had a good time. The last day, I was very sad but now I’m very excited because in one hundred and ninety one days I go to Australia and I see

Olivia again!

It was an unforgettable experience!

The kangaroo and the koala.

A long time ago there was a kangaroo who was very very slow, and his best friend, the koala bear, who he, on the contrary was a very fast animal.

A beautiful spring day, the two friends were walking. They saw a sort of red mountain. They decided to explore this big red mountain.

Later, an aborigine appeared suddenly.

He says : -What are you doing on this hill ?

You have nothing to do here ! said the angry man.

The Koala and the Kangaroo were worried. The Kangaroo answered with a decided tone:

“- We have dedcided to go to the summit of this red big mountain, and nothing will stop us.

-If you go up to the summit, you will regret it !


And he disappeared. The two friends, determined to go up to the summit, started again the road.

Two hours later, they arrived at the top of the mountain and discovered the beautiful landscape of Australia.

Suddenly, they heard a big noise.The Koala and the Kangaroo were terrified.

Suddenly a big rock fall on the leg of the Koala. The kangaroo helped him when a big rock fell near the two friends. The kangaroo terrified put his friend in is pouch. The koala was completely knocked out! The kangaroo ran faster and faster. And the koala moved very slow because he didn’t get better after this accident.

It’s why the Kangaroo is faster than the koala !

And the Koala is slower than the Kangaroo !

Dambach-la-Ville / Collège du Bernstein

L'anglais qui fait voyager

Les élèves de la section européenne sont partis à la découverte de l'Australie. (Photo DNA)

Intégrer la section européenne du collège du Bernstein se révèle être un excellent moyen d'appréhender la langue anglaise tout en voyageant.

Ouverte il y a 7 ans à Dambach-la-Ville, cette option permet aux élèves de 4e et de 3e d'utiliser l'anglais appris en cours de langue traditionnels, pour découvrir l'histoire et la civilisation des différents pays anglophones comme la Grande-Bretagne, les Etats-Unis et l'Australie.

Un nouveau partenariat

Depuis 6 ans le collège du Bernstein et trois autres établissements bas-rhinois se sont jumelés avec deux écoles de la Gold Coast, dans le Queensland, en Australie. Chaque année, une trentaine d'élèves profite ainsi d'un échange inoubliable.
Et, depuis l'année passée, la section européenne est également en contact avec une école en Angleterre. Au printemps dernier, les élèves des deux côtés de la Manche ont donc pu concrétiser leurs correspondances par une rencontre à Londres.
